The driver, a 30-year-old Comstock Park man, went through a stop sign at M-37.
Police are on the scene of a three-car accident in the center lane of southbound U.S. 131 north of the Pearl St. exit.
The girl, Destiny Lynn Van Maurick, had been southbound on 120th Avenue when her Honda Accord drifted over the center line and struck a northbound Volkswagon Passat head-on, police said.
The accident is under investigation for possible alcohol use.
Police are withholding names of the victims until relatives can be notified.
