The school district tried sharing the administrative duties this year, but Superintendent Gary Rider says it’s not a long-term solution.
Work begins April 15 and is expected to reach completion Sept. 1. The bridge and northbound exit ramp will be closed throughout the entire $3.6 million project.
Village Manager Rebecca Fleury said the 84-year-old bridge has been on the state’s critical bridge list for quite awhile.
A state hearing on the charge is scheduled for May 3, but representatives from both the Hastings Education Association and Board of Education said they hope the issue can be resolved before then.
